    CHIEF SOFTWARE ENGINEER

    BRIEF OVERVIEW
    Role: Chief Software Engineer
    Location: Warwickshire
    Role type: Permanent
    Salary: £Negotiable depending on experience level

    Recruit 12 has an exciting opportunity for a Chief Software Engineer with a business which is focusing projects including electrification, traditional propulsion systems and transmission systems within various types of mobility.

    You’ll be responsible for delivering both controls/application software and base software for the required systems. You’ll be a key leader within the business whilst providing technical contributions for vehicle systems and components. Some of the products you’ll be involved with will contribute to the enhancement of vehicle safety, performance and fuel economy.

    ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    – Act as the overall technical leader and be responsible for complete software delivery
    – Be the primary point of contact between the customer and internal teams
    – Be involved in technical discussions and explain features/functions
    – Negotiate expectations internally and externally
    – Issue resolution with internal and external teams
    – Software release planning and execution and resolve technical interdependencies
    – Lead development related to overall areas, establishing control strategies
    – Interface cross functional teams to ensure requirements are met
    – Work with teams to develop requirements, architecture, implementation, testing/integration
    – Work with functional safety and cybersecurity teams where required
    – Develop the core strategy for presentation to management to provide insights
    – Support the development of other projects areas when required

    REQUIRED SKILLS
    – Full lifecycle motor controls development and testing experience
    – Model-based software development experience
    – Experience with AUTOSAR and associated toolchains
    – Software development processes (such as Polarion, Git, etc)
    – ASPICE knowledge
    – Experience leading a team of engineers
    – Able to travel occasionally when required

    DESIRABLE (NOT ESSENTIAL)
    – Knowledge of vehicle powertrain controls
    – ASPICE L2 software knowledge
    – Azure repos and artifactory knowledge
    – ISO26262 (functional safety) and ISO21434 (cybersecurity) standards knowledge
    – Understanding of APQP, DVP&R, DFM, DFMEA, etc
    – Master’s or PhD degree in a relevant discipline
